About the Department
The department of Botany was established in the college with an aim to generate knowledge of plant kingdom in the students and also to inculcate a sense of responsibility in them so that they explore but not exploit the plant world.
The department offers undergraduate course of Botany which include teaching of the following topics
I Year : Introductory Microbiology and Lower Plants (Algae, Fungi, Bryophytes and Pteridophytes), Introductory Cell Biology and Genetics and Molecular Biology
II Year: Gymnosperms (extinct and extant), Taxonomy, Morphology, Anatomy and Embryology of Angiosperms
III Year: Plant Physiology, Introductory Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Ecology and Economic Botany
